Dr. Kim Oppenheimer is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been licensed to practice psychology since 1986. Dr. Oppenheimer specializes in various clinical and forensic services. Dr. Oppenheimer is currently accepting new patients.
Taking the first step all starts with reaching out and seeking help. You don’t have to do this alone.
Dr. Oppenheimer believes that change occurs within the context of a collaborative, trusting, safe and supportive environment. Dr. Oppenheimer’s style of psychotherapy and counseling is active, open and direct. Dr. Oppenheimer gives direct feedback and believes that what you do between sessions is just as important in reaching your therapy goals as what is discussed.
Dr. Oppenheimer also believes that symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, occur when there is not a good fit between people and their environment, such as in a relationship or job. Thus, Dr. Oppenheimer’s orientation to therapy is a blending of family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy theories. She treats individual adults, adolescents, couples and families. Dr. Oppenheimer specializes in treating anxiety disorders, depression, relationship issues (including mother-daughter), custody evaluations, parent coordination, co-parenting, reunification therapy, couples therapy, workplace stress, family transitions to college, stress and coping with divorce, and parental alienation. She also has specialized training in child custody evaluations, forensic psychological evaluations, and parent coordination.
